# Custom Enchantments

### Identifying a Custom Enchantment

Custom enchantments appear in an item's lore with a named level or effect.

Always read the entire item before trading or equipping it.

### Obtaining Enchantments

Depending on the current reward pool, custom enchantments may come from:

* Vaults.
* Boss and event rewards.
* Enchantment menus.
* Player trading.
* Special equipment.

### Combining and Applying

Use the current in-game enchantment menus for supported books, success chances, protection items and application rules.

Do not assume every custom enchantment can be placed on every item type.

### Combat Rules

Effects remain subject to:

* Cooldowns.
* PvP restrictions.
* Item-type restrictions.
* Conflict handling with other enchantments.
* Server balance changes.

The in-game enchantment description is authoritative for the current version.
