Markdown versions of documentation pages are available by appending `.md` to page URLs; this page is available as [Markdown](https://wiki.sempermc.net/core-gameplay/lifesteal-system.md). # Lifesteal System Lifesteal makes health part of progression and PvP risk. ### Core Rules * New players begin with a standard heart total. * Defeating another player normally transfers a heart. * The server limits heart farming between repeated targets and related connections. * Heart totals have a configured maximum. * Reaching zero hearts causes temporary elimination. Use `/lifesteal check ` to inspect Lifesteal information when available. ### Heart Farming Artificial heart farming is not allowed. Examples include: * Repeatedly killing an alternate account. * Coordinating fake kills solely to transfer hearts. * Exploiting reconnects, IP checks or cooldowns. * Using a bug to duplicate heart rewards. ### Non-Player Deaths Do not assume that only PvP is dangerous. Mob or environmental deaths may affect hearts under the current season settings. The current in-game Lifesteal notices are authoritative. ### Heartbound Is Separate Heartbound checks your current hearts but does not consume or award hearts.
