# Lands and Claims

Lands protects territory in 16×16 chunks and gives owners control over building, storage and member permissions.

### Claiming Land

1. Stand in the chunk you want.
2. Open `/lands`.
3. Create or select your Land.
4. Use `/lands claim`.
5. Confirm the claim with `/lands map`.

Claim costs and upkeep are displayed in game and may be adjusted as the economy evolves.

### Useful Commands

| Command                 | Purpose                   |
| ----------------------- | ------------------------- |
| `/lands`                | Open management           |
| `/lands claim`          | Claim the current chunk   |
| `/lands unclaim`        | Remove the current claim  |
| `/lands map`            | View nearby claims        |
| `/lands trust <player>` | Add a trusted player      |
| `/lands edit <land>`    | Select a Land             |
| `/lands rename <name>`  | Rename a Land             |
| `/lands relations`      | Manage allies and enemies |

### Protecting Storage

A claim is only as secure as its role permissions.

* Do not give container access to every member.
* Separate builders from storage users.
* Use sub-areas for vaults and sensitive rooms.
* Review flags after promoting someone.
* Keep valuable storage away from borders.
* Remove access immediately when a member leaves.

### Claims and Raiding

Claims cannot be bypassed through exploits, glitches or unintended mechanics.

PvP, wars, betrayal and theft are governed by the current `/rules`. Legitimate access never permits bug abuse or protection bypasses.

### Losing Territory

War and capture behavior can change by season. Read the current war menu before declaring or accepting a war.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://wiki.sempermc.net/core-gameplay/lands-and-claims.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
